Imagination Playhouse II: Folk Theater Ensemble for 3rd-6th grade
Taught by Gina Samardge and Eric Saiet, with Romina Robinson and Sophia Jackson
Mondays, 4pm - 5:30pm, September 24 - December 17 (no class 10/8) Performance date TBA
A wonderful continuation through the world of theater and storytelling, Imagination Playhouse II uses improvisation and theaters games to nurture the creative minds of students while teaching them theater terminology, character development, and story creation. Over the fall trimester, students will be building a foundation and community through the weekly improv and theater games. They will also have breakout sections in music, movement, and set and costume design, giving them a window into most aspects of the theater. A showcase will be presented at the end of the fall trimester, demonstrating many of skills built over the trimester through the various games.
The second semester of this class will be a longer session beginning in January 2019 where the students will use the skills built in the fall course to create and write an original show, culminating in a joint production with the younger ensemble in May of 2019.
