Rompatom Imagination Crafters Gina Samardge Compass ArtsRompatom Imagination Crafters, Week One
A music and theater all in one camp for 8-14 year olds
Taught by Eric Saiet, Gina Samardge and Jessie Shaffer
Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm, August 10 to August 14

This summer we are combining our popular music and theater ensemble programs, Rompatom Ensemble, Imagination Playhouse, and Theater Crafters, into one camp full of deep creative exploration! Over the course of the week, students will be immersed in the processes of rhythm, melody, singing, movement and acting along with musical and theatrical improv, theater games, skit writing, and storytelling. Led by Eric Saiet, Gina Samardge, and Jessie Shaffer, this camp will tap into each student's creative capacity, allowing them to express themselves in a safe, supportive environment while they develop their skills, explore their ideas, collaborate on group projects, and have a whole lot of fun. At the end of each week the students will share their creations with their families.

Students who play an instrument are invited to bring it to camp and perhaps incorporate it into a song, soundscape, or skit. Our process is geared toward the interests of the students while nudging them to broaden their experience and try new things, so if they are more interested in one component than another there can be flexibility in the way in which they participate. For example, if they would prefer to participate more on the musical side of things, they may be able to add sound effects or underscoring to a skit or, vice versa, if they prefer the acting and writing side, they may create a shadow play for a song that's being played. This camp is not your average music or theater camp!
